Our innovative programs empower young people to lead.

From community engagement to youth leadership, program development, research, advocacy, and collaborations, our programs provide the skills, resources, and support young people need to make a real difference.

Our Programs

We help youth understand and navigate the systems that affect their lives, so they can effectively exercise their rights, contribute to decision-making processes, and build connections with like-minded peers.

Civic Engagement

We empower youth to engage with government processes, participate in civic activities, and exercise their right to vote, ensuring their voices are represented in shaping policies and decisions.

  • The London Youth Advisory Council (LYAC) is a self-governing council composed of Youth Councillors, aged 15-25. The council meets in a round-table format to discuss and analyze important issues, including carding, public transit, school dress codes, income disparity, and other concerns that impact their communities.

Councillors are elected annually in a citywide election and engage in community events, hold focus groups, and facilitate community development projects.

By participating in the council, youth are directly involved in civic engagement and local governance, shaping policies that affect their lives.

  • The Community Action Team empowers young people to work collaboratively with staff to design and implement community projects based on identified gaps and needs.

This program encourages youth to draw on their lived experiences to address issues important to them and their communities.

Through active participation in community development, they gain valuable skills in project management, teamwork, leadership, and communication, while contributing to civic engagement and local governance initiatives.

Social Good

We connect youth with opportunities in the nonprofit and charity sectors, encouraging them to contribute to social good and community development.

  • Youth in Philanthropy is a committee of young people aged 13-25 who adjudicate youth-focused grants provided by the London Community Foundation.

The committee is dedicated to empowering youth by identifying and awarding grants to impactful programs and initiatives that benefit young people in London.

This program not only fosters leadership skills but also instills a strong sense of social responsibility and an understanding of the philanthropic sector.

  • The Young Leaders program offers young people aged 18-24 the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by serving on a nonprofit board of directors for up to 8 months.

This placement and training program equips participants with essential skills in nonprofit governance, leadership, and collaboration.

Through this program, young leaders are positioned to contribute meaningfully to the social good and governance of charitable organizations, preparing them to become effective community leaders.

Youth-Led Research

We position youth to conduct responsive research in the community on issues that matter to them, so they can influence decision-making and contribute to actionable solutions.

  • By leading research projects, young people gain essential skills while addressing real issues that impact their peers and communities. Their work informs decisions, influences policies, and ensures that youth voices are central to creating meaningful change.

By offering leadership training, hands-on experiences, mentorship, and collaborative projects, we help youth develop the confidence and skills necessary to take on leadership roles and advocate for the issues they care about. If we do our job right, every young person who engages with our programs will leave feeling empowered, informed, and ready to live and lead with purpose in their communities.
